Martha Swallow has eight years of middle school teaching experience. She also worked as an administrator for a private school where she developed curriculum and provided professional development for teaching staff. In her role as PTA President for a local elementary school, Martha has a track record of developing and maintaining strong community relations. Martha earned a Bachelor of Arts in Biology and Psychology from University of Colorado Boulder and a Master’s Degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Seattle Pacific University. Martha is currently enrolled in the College Counseling Certification Program at UCLA.
Rena Pitasky spent over ten years working in math education in the Issaquah School District, first as a math teacher and most recently as the district’s Secondary Math Specialist. In that role, Rena was responsible for all aspects of mathematics teaching and learning for the middle schools and high schools in the district. Rena is a National Board certified teacher in Early Adolescence Mathematics, and holds endorsements in K-8 Elementary Education, Middle Grades Mathematics, and High School Mathematics. Rena holds a Bachelor of Science in Economics in Marketing and Finance from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania, and is currently pursuing a Masters in Mathematics from the University of Nebraska. Rena loves math and hopes to instill that love for math in all her students!
